SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police in Springfield are searching for three men suspected in an armed home invasion in the city's Forest Park neighborhood.

The police say at around 4:00 PM Thursday, three men broke into a home at 472 Dickinson Street using a shovel and forced their way inside. Once inside, they confronted the elderly couple who lives here.

Lt. David Martin told 22News that one of the men had a gun.

They zip-tied the couple, forced them into the bathroom, and then stole what police described as a "large amount of money."

The victims of the home invasion were not hurt.

The robbers were described as wearing dark hoodies with masks. They ran off and have not been arrested.

The Springfield Police Detective Bureau is handling the investigation. If you have any information, call them at (413) 787-6355.

On December 20th, three men who were also wearing dark hoodies allegedly robbed homeowners on Edendale Street in East Springfield.

The police have not said if the incidents are related.
