CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - If you're wearing too much perfume or after shave you won't be allowed into offices or hospitals.
More hospitals nationwide are asking people to remain in the entrance area if you're wearing fragrances. They say it's to create a safe environment for people with allergies, asthma or respiratory infections.
Many people told 22News, walking into an area with strong scent is like walking into a place filled with cigarette smoke. Teri Jacques of East Longmeadow said, “It can be offensive to other people. You may think it smells good but other people may find it nauseating, make their eyes water, sneeze from it, so I think it's a good policy.”
Baystate Medical Center is one of many hospitals that ask employees refrain from using scented products.
