SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Firefighters are investigating a fire at a single-family home at 26 Suffolk Street in Springfield.
The fire started at 5:20 Sunday morning.
Aide to the Fire Commissioner Dennis Leger told 22News when firefighters got to 26 Suffolk Street, two people were standing outside the home, with soot on their faces.
They were sent to Baystate Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The arson squad is investigating the cause of the fire.
The two people who were sent to the hospital have a daughter but she was spending the night at a friend's house, so everyone who lived in the home has been accounted for and is safe.
