SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Pioneer Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is accepting volunteers to help people affected by the damage from Wednesday's tornado.
If you can help, you must come in person to the Pioneer Valley Red Cross headquarters at 506 Cottage St. in Springfield starting at 9:30 A.M. Thursday. You will have to fill out an application, be screened for interest and available opportunities, and complete a background check.
You must bring a photo ID with you, as well.
Paige Thayer from the American Red Cross told 22News that potential volunteers must go to the headquarters. They will not be accepting new volunteers who show up at shelters.
