SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It was a celebration of Irish heritage Thursday at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield.

Hundreds came out, dressed in green, to listen to Irish music and celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Thursday night's headliner, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, is a "bag-rock" group with a unique combination of bagpipes and rock anthems. "I like Irish music and I like the combination of the rock and Irish music that these guys are about," said Mike Flynn of East Longmeadow.

Several people at tonight's concert also told 22News the great weather today motivated them to get out of the house and celebrate.
