SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Teresa Hudson of Springfield has given her husband Paul an early 25th anniversary gift, one of her kidneys.
Teresa and Paul are recuperating at Baystate Medical Center from the transplant surgery.
The 47 year old kidney recipient, Paul, told 22News, it’s like Christmas in March. “This has been a wonderful gift for me. It is March but Christmas is forever, it's when we give gifts. Gifts of love and my wife just gave me a gift. She gave me a kidney to allow me to continue on with my life.”
According to Teresa, “I would do it over and over again for him. He's a very loving husband, good father; he's a very good person in general. I would give him the other kidney if I could.”
The Hudsons are parents of two grown children. Paul said he expects to be back to work in six to eight weeks.
