MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) - A Canada goose that survived being hit with an arrow is still alive and roaming around Monson.
On Thursday, Monson resident Gary Heard e-mailed 22News a photo of what appears to be the same injured goose we reported on in late June.
The bird has an arrow going through its wing and sticking out of its neck. Heard told 22News that his wife spotted the bird near Dean Pond Road in Monson. He said he was concerned and called several area agencies to ask for help.
22News called the Animal Rescue League to find out what residents should do if they spot an injured animal. The agency’s Margaret Wirth said that you should keep your distance from the animal, and call either your local police department, Mass Fish and Wildlife , or the Animal Rescue League.
You can reach the Animal Rescue League by calling 1-617-426-9170.
