It has been 24 hours and people are still snowed in

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - It's been 24 hours since snow stopped in most places in western Massachusetts.  But some people are still snowed in.

A lot of people spent all day Saturday shoveling and digging out.  But some people who live here on Harvard St. didn't get a chance to do much work at all.

There's still knee-deep snow in front of their houses.

The city's plow trucks haven't come down to this section of Harvard Street yet.  The other side of St. James Avenue has been plowed.

And it's not just Harvard St. residents who are still trapped.  Just a few blocks up, Dorchester St. has been untouched.

As of late Saturday night, Buckingham St. and Florida St. were unplowed as well.

Many residents called 22News, extremely frustrated.

Some of their biggest concerns were not being able to check on their neighbors and people taking matters into their own hands, and making a bigger mess.

Mayor Domenic Sarno said plow trucks would work through the night.  He said main roads are priorities.

We did notice Lafayette St. that wasn't plowed last night has been cleaned up.
Residents can call the DPW emergency line at 311.

More plow trucks are headed our way from New York.
