SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - February is typically our second coldest month, but with 50s in the forecast for a few days this week; we're running out of time to catch up on our snow drought.
We're exactly one month away until the start of spring, but even with the arrival of spring we can still get snow.
The sun might be shining in forest park today, but it's not too late to get snow.
On Presidents Day last year western Massachusetts had to deal with 3 inches of fresh powder, but snow has happened later than that as well.
Also last year, it was no April fools joke on April first as snow blanketed much of western Massachusetts.
"Lived in New England all my life so they say when you least expect it, we still could get a storm,” Ron Auclair told 22news.
It's snowed later than April in western Massachusetts; there have been times when we've had snow showers in May!
