Jessica Rojas laid to rest in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A 25-year-old victim of domestic violence was buried Tuesday.

Jessica Rojas' funeral was held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield. She will be buried at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Rojas was allegedly stabbed to death last week by her boyfriend 30-year-old Jose Santiago at her home on Washburn Street just hours after celebrating her birthday.

During Santiago's arraignment two of Rojas' family members attempted to attack him.

They have since been charged in connection with the incident.   

Rojas was a mother of four children who worked at Springfield city hall as a legal assistant.

Santiago pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held without bail.
