SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Jewish Geriatric Services celebrated 100 years of care and service Saturday night at the museum of Springfield history.
Jewish Geriatric Services started in 1912 as a 12 bed nursing home; today they've grown to fill a campus in Longmeadow which includes a 200 bed nursing home and assisted living facility. The chairman of the centennial celebration told 22news.
“I've been involved for years and years it's a family tradition. My grandmother was a volunteer my father my uncles and it’s been my pleasure and my honor to be involved for the last 25 years,” Stephen Krevalin told 22News.
Krevalin told 22news the success of the organization is much in thanks to its volunteers.
