HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - For the first time in nearly three decades, Holyoke Medical Center will be looking for a new president and CEO. The hospital announced Monday that longtime leader Hank J. Porten, will be leaving his current position this summer.

Porten has led the hospital for the past 28 years; during which time it expanded and changed its name from Holyoke Hospital to Holyoke Medical Center. He will continue to serve the institution and its affiliates through its parent company, Valley Health Systems, Inc.

Meanwhile, the Board of Directors will search for a new president for the 198-bed facility.
