LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Some school districts here in the Pioneer Valley are taking extra steps to make sure students are safe, following the Newtown massacre.

In a statement posted on Ludlow's School District website, Superintendent of Schools Todd Gazda says he plans to review security procedures and even re-train staff.

Gazda says "administrators of the district will be reviewing our policies with the input of police and fire to ensure we have the most current strategies."

Connecticut authorities have yet to reveal how the gunman, Adam Lanza entered the school, but say he did force his way in.
