SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A man is recovering in the hospital after flipping his car over at the intersection of Armory and Federal Street in Springfield.

The accident happened just before 1:30 Thursday morning.

Captain Cheryl Claprood told 22News they think speed was the reason the man's BMW flipped onto it's roof. The fire department had to cut the roof off just to get the man out.

He was taken to Baystate Medical Center, but is expected to be okay.
