SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield Police detectives are trying to figure out who shot a 24 year-old man in the abdomen around 8:00 Monday night.
Sgt. Jeff Martucci told 22News that the bullet went into the 24 year-old's victim's stomach, and he collapsed on the road in front of 66 Knox Street.
He was rushed to Baystate Medical Center, but is expected to survive.
Captain William Collins said detectives were trying to get information from him once he was in recovery, but that he was not cooperating.
Captain Collins also said that the amount of blood that they found on the street may indicate that there was another person who got shot or that the blood belonged to the shooter.
The Detective Bureau continues to investigate Tuesday morning.
