Springfield marks 9th murder of 2011

No suspects have been arrested

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A man was shot and killed in Springfield Sunday, marking the city's 9th murder of the year.

According to Springfield Police Lt. Thomas Kennedy, the murder happened at 66 Lincoln Street, near Springfield Technical Community College, around 7:30 Sunday evening.

When 22News was there, our cameras saw multiple shell casings on the ground, indicating there could have been multiple shots fired.

Police are still investigating this shooting and have not arrested any suspects yet. The identity of the victim has not been released either.
