SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation met with western Mass. residents Thursday night to talk about current conditions of our roadways.
Mass DOT held a public forum at Springfield Technical Community College.
The Highway Administrator of Mass DOT, Frank Depaola, told 22News after these forums, they'll make a list of highway and public transit projects that need to be done next year. And they'll consider areas affected by last year's Hurricane Irene when prioritizing those projects.
According to Depaola, “There are bridges that they'd like to see either enhance, enlarged or raised. Roads we'd like to widen. Culverts and drain systems we'd like to improve. We want to be able to handle any future storms like that.”
Residents can submit their comments online if they missed Thursday night's public forum.
