LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Police in Longmeadow have issued an arrest warrant for the brother of Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse.
They want to question him about a bank robbery that took place on March 24th.
It was just before Noon on March 24th when a woman robbed the Berkshire Bank Branch on Longmeadow Street.
The woman police allege committed the robbery, Desiree Ferreira of Westfield , turned herself in, but now police are saying she didn't work alone, and that it was the mayor's brother who was sitting here in the parking lot driving the getaway vehicle.
His name is Doug Morse , he is 32 years old and has a history of drug abuse and problems with the law.
He was arrested in early March on drug and traffic charges following a near collision with a police cruiser in Northampton.
He was due back in court to face those charges on April 25, but right now, police do not know where he is.
Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse told 22News his brother has struggled with drug addiction for most of his adult life.
Meanwhile, Longmeadow police are investigating a second bank robbery in town, which happened just a couple days later at the Hampden Bank branch just down the road.
Police are saying the two robberies are not believed to be related.
