SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Baystate Children's hospital in Springfield has on display Memorial Quilts honoring young patients who died from illness or accidents.
Nurses and mid-wives with quilting skills crafted patches which honor the memory of the children.
Parents have the opportunity to mourn their loss at the quilt that bears their child's name.
“We have a service every spring, in which we invite families to come and communicate their child's life and to help put the quilt together,” Marjorie Bloom told 22News.
The Memorial Quilts are there for the public to see until 3pm on Sunday at Baystate Medical Center's Chestnut building.
