SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Residents in Springfield have a chance to hear first-hand Monday from MGM and Penn National about the latest casino plans they have for the city.
Monday afternoon, the public is invited to CityStage at 2:30 P.M. to hear the revised plans the two casino companies have for Springfield.
Mayor Domenic Sarno said this will give both MGM and Penn National another opportunity to explain their traffic plans and non-casino entertainment plans. This scheduled presentation came in response to the City's request for more details.
This meeting, however, will not include a question-and-answer forum for the public; it's more of a listening session.
MGM is vying to build a casino in the city’s South End, while Penn National wants to build one on the other side of downtown in the North End.
