SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - MGM Resorts is opening an office in Springfield.

The New MGM Springfield Community office will open on Tuesday at 1441 Man Street.

The developer hopes to build a resort casino on about 10 acres of land in the city's south end.

This is just the latest push MGM has made to forge a relationship with Springfield. They made major donations to the south end community center, Springfield's Fourth of July celebration and are sponsoring the Falcon's upcoming season.

They are one of four developers that are looking at the city, Ameristar revealed plans for property off of Page Boulevard, Penn National is looking at the city's North End and Hard Rock has also expressed interest in a downtown casino.
