MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) - Members of the Boston Celtics family made a trip to Monson on Tuesday to help a family that is still rebuilding after last year's tornado .

Stacy Dill of Monson wrote an award-winning essay describing her family's efforts to recover from the tornado’s damage to their home last year.

The Celtics' Cedric Maxwell and Avery Bradley were there to reward the Dill family with a completely new driveway, including a basketball court.

The mother of four told 22News how the tornado recovery strengthened the bond between her family and their neighbors.

“Your neighbors are your best friends,” Dill said, “the people that are around you become your family. It becomes a community wide event.”

RE/MAX Realty and the Boston Celtics sponsored the contest.
