Motorcycle hits pole in Agawam

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Part of Route 57 in the Feeding Hills section of Agawam was closed for hours Saturday night after a motorcycle crash.

Agawam Police Lieutenant Eric Gillis told 22News just before 7 pm, a biker was traveling west on 57 at a "very high rate of speed" when he lost control and hit a utility pole.

The male biker was taken to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries.

Route 57 was closed from North West Street to the Southwick line until just after 10 o'clock.
