MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) - For the third consecutive night, a motorcycle crashed with serious consequences in Western Massachusetts.
A motorcycle crashed in Monson Friday night near 228 Stafford Road. Monson Police Chief Stephen Kozloski told 22News the motorcyclist apparently lost control on a curve on Stafford Road just before 8:30 p.m. Friday. The bike hit a dirt embankment, and ended up pinning the rider beneath his bike.
The 44 year old victim was rushed to Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, and then life-flighted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Monson Police closed a section of Stafford Road for a time, diverting traffic onto May Hill Road.
Chief Kozloski told 22News it appeared the rider was not wearing a helmet.
