SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - It was a step back in time at Mount Holyoke College's Chapin Auditorium.
Sunday was their 13th annual presentation of the Big Broadcast.
The yearly event is a revival of 1940s era live radio variety shows, and it's a faithful replica, featuring radio commercials and plays from that era.
The show is written almost entirely by students.
Olivia Walsh, a sophomore at Mt. Holyoke, said "Since Mount Holyoke is such an historic school, we're trying to really just recognize the great times of the 1940's."
"It's truly a trip back in time and an educational experience for us. And I think they appreciate that we are interested in a time when they grew up." states Emily Moner who helped write the show.
The event was emceed by 22news Storm Team meteorologist Brian Lapis, who has emceed the event 6 years in a row as the host of "WJAZ".
