HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Icy road surfaces caused several spinout accidents on Interstate 91 southbound in Holyoke Tuesday night.
State Police attached to the Northampton Barracks told 22News, "there have been several spinouts near Exit 15 on I-91 south. We're really busy."
Police had no reports of any injuries.
Caution is advised. Any drivers heading south on Interstate 91 need to go slowly and keep a safe distance from the car in front of them. A dusting of snow and the sub-freezing temperatures have formed a layer of ice on the highway road surface.
Holyoke Police told 22News they were dispatching a sanding truck to route 202, near the Apremont Highway. They described road conditions as "treacherous" from the Westfield line to Homestead Avenue.
