CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Eight months and two days since 20-year-old Amanda Plasse was found stabbed to death in her Chicopee apartment on August 26th, her family still waits for answers and a suspect to be arrested.

Saturday night, friends and family stood vigil near her apartment on 73 School Street, holding pink candles to bring attention to their mission.

Amanda's mom, Michelle Mathieson, told 22News she will not give up until justice is served for her daughter. "Whether it's me walking the streets of the city handing out flyers like I did this morning, releasing balloons, lighting candles, letting the community know that right here in our own center, somebody was murdered. We will keep fighting. I will fight for her."

Amanda was murdered the day before Tropical Storm Irene rolled in.
