CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The mother of a Chicopee murder victim is giving back to the city's youth in her daughter's name.

Michelle Mathieson made a large donation of art supplies to the Chicopee Boys & Girls Club Wednesday afternoon.

13 months ago Wednesday, Mathieson's daughter, Amanda Plasse was found murdered in her Chicopee apartment.  The art supplies were paid for with funds raised during a benefit in Amanda's name.  Mathieson told 22News Amanda's passion was art, in every form.

"Amanda was constantly painting, coloring.  You name it, Amanda did it so it's kind of dear to my heart to be able to do this," Mathieson told 22News.

Mathieson told 22News police are still actively investigating her daughters death.  Anyone with information is asked to call Chicopee Police.
