WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - This weekend the New York City Episcopal Diocese installed the Reverend Andrew Dietsche as its new Bishop.

Bishop Dietsche is affectionately remembered at West Springfield's Church of the Good Shepherd.

Dietsche was Rector of the Western Massachusetts Church from 1990 until 2001.

Parishioner Marjorie Wood called the Bishop a regular guy.

“He just wanted to do things, very active in the Parish. If there was a project to be done, painting walls or whatever, he was there painting away with everybody else,” said Marjorie Wood of West Springfield.

Parishioners said they're proud of the man who spent so many years as leader of their church.
