PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - At a public forum Monday night, Mohegan Sun revealed a new brand along with a new logo and new drawings, but that’s where the details ended.
Mitchell Etess, the CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, told 22News, “We're not going to be more specific in the names of things because we are viewing this as a competition and we feel that the more information we give the better it is for the competition so we're going to keep everything as we have this entire process, very confidential."
‘Mohegan Sun Massachusetts’ will incorporate several properties around its 151 acre site off Route 32 in palmer.
It will bring the total cost of the project closer to $800 million.
However, there are no details on what will end up on those properties.
Jennifer Baruffaldi of Palmer Citizens for Jobs and Growth told 22News, “I do want to hear more details. I am a little frustrated and I do anticipate hearing more.”
While many longtime supporters are growing impatient, especially as developers reveal more and more about their plans for Springfield and West Springfield, Mohegan Sun tried to reassure residents their final plan will blow the rest out of the water.
Etess said the details will all be released before a referendum on the plan goes to voters.
That could happen as soon as June.
