LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - 22News got in on the ground floor of a new holiday tradition in the town of Ludlow Sunday.
A tradition that started with a horse drawn wagon parading through town and stopping along the way to accept Christmas presents for the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots campaign.
And it's only fitting this tradition be named in honor of a Marine from Ludlow who gave his life for his country.
“This past summer we lost Sgt. Josh DesForges who was a Ludlow Marine. His family lived in Ludlow, as did Josh, his family lived in Ludlow their entire lives. They came up with the idea to honor Josh but also to bring the community together before Christmas,” said Chip Harrington of Ludlow.
The Ludlow Rotary Club has spearheaded this holiday season activity.
Everywhere the wagon went, there were people waiting to contribute to Toys for Tots.
