Chicopee, Mass. (WWLP) - What looks and feels like a tootsie roll but contains a component of marijuana?

It's Cheeba Chew, legal in California and Colorado where it's sold as medical marijuana but not legal here in Massachusetts.

A teenager in the eastern Massachusetts town of Wayland was recently arrested for having four Cheeba Chews in his pocket.

The product isn't well known here in Springfield but some are familiar with the name.

"The word "cheeba" reminds me of something that has to do with marijuana, I've never heard of that product in particular, but I've heard of other things such as lozenges, lollipops and things of that nature," said Alicia Powers of Springfield.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Sgt. John Delaney told 22News, He's heard nothing about Cheeba Chew being used here.

Delaney confirmed the produce contains THC, a component of marijuana.
