AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - A West Springfield-based company has been cited after state police say one of its tanker trucks spilled about 90 gallons of an oil-water solution near the Agawam Rotary Monday morning.
State Police Sgt. Alan Joubert told 22News that about the solution spilled as a tanker truck was coming off the rotary at about 9:45 A.M. Joubert said that the spill was caused by a manhole on the top of the tanker that was not properly secured.
Traffic backups resulted as MassHighway and Agawam highway crews sanded the roadway and cleaned up the non-hazardous solution.
Joubert told 22News that the owner of the truck, Oil Recovery of West Springfield, was cited for load spillage.
