SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A car crash in Springfield ended with four people in the hospital and one under arrest.
24-year-old Kevin Silgar of Springfield was arrested on weapons charges after a serious car crash. Lt. Alberto Ayala told 22News it happened around 9:40 Saturday night when an officer attempted to stop a green Dodge Neon at Main and Montgomery streets.
The driver took off and crashed into another car a short distance away at Oak and Worcester streets. Aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner, Denis Leger told 22News one of the passengers had to be taken out of the Neon with the jaws of life.
The four people in the car were taken to the hospital. Everyone suffered minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
Silgar was arrested and faces several charges including carrying a firearm without a license and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. The driver of the vehicle will face charges as well.
