CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Generous people continue to come to the lobby of the 22News Broadcast Center to donate bikes and toys to the 22News/U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive. They know that there are so many needy children who face a bleak Christmas without these expressions of kindness.
David Lenart of Chicopee told 22News why he decided to brighten a child's life with the gift of a bicycle. “I figured that's a good gift for a kid all year; some of the toys they get the day after Christmas, but a bike they can make much more use of when the weather's decent, it brings a smile to a kid, it's a traditional gift,” he said.
Most of the people came with their children as they delivered the Toys for Tots gifts Tuesday. Parents have told 22News that they want to share with their kids the need to give to others who are not as fortunate as themselves.
