Parker St. to be closed for firefighter's funeral procession

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield police are planning to close a section Parker Street for an hour and a half on Friday for the funeral procession of Springfield firefighter Kenneth J. Murray, III.
Murray, 23, was killed in a car accident on Cottage Street on Sunday morning.
Calling hours for Murray will be on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home on Wilbraham Road.
The funeral Mass will be at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Parker Street at 11:30 Friday morning, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that due to Murray’s funeral on Friday, they will close Parker Street from Wilbraham Road to North Branch Parkway on both the northbound and southbound sides.
The closure will be from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
