SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Next stop for the Pats, the AFC championship game.

The New England Patriots defeated the Houston Texans 41-28 at home Sunday. Tom Brady became the winningest quarterback in postseason play, throwing for three touchdowns and surpassing his childhood hero, Joe Montana, by throwing for 344 yards. Some fans told 22News things started off slow, but they were confident they'd come out with a win.

“This game we have the best defense in the NFL,” Pats fan Pedro Principe of Springfield said. “I trust the New England Patriots all the way.”

“Tom Brady, it took him a while to get going but once it got going they were moving the ball, started running and short passes,” said Gilbert Camacho of Holyoke. “It started looking good after that.”

The Patriots and Ravens are meeting for the AFC title for the second straight year. Baltimore, which stunned top-seeded Denver in double overtime Saturday, lost 23-20 at Gillette Stadium last January.
