Pedestrian struck by multiple cars and killed on I-91 South in Spfld

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A pedestrian was killed after being struck by multiple cars while crossing the southbound lanes on I-91 at Exit 3.

It happened just before 10 o'clock Saturday night.  The victim, a woman, attempted to walk across the lanes and was hit by the cars.

State Trooper Glenn Witaszek told 22News 91 South was completely shut down following the accident, until the investigation was completed by State Police and the Hampden County DA's office.

The identity of the victim has not been released yet.
