SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Dozens of curious western Massachusetts residents met with Penn National representatives Tuesday night.

Sal's Bakery in Springfield held a public forum, so area residents can learn more about casino plans.

Penn National answered questions about public safety, traffic issues and jobs.

Many people told 22News they wanted to find out how a casino can help the city economically.

“I just think we need one for financial reasons,” said Peg Pelerin of Springfield. “I think we need to better Springfield 100%, so I'm for a casino in Springfield definitely.”

This was the second public forum held at Sal's Bakery. Last week residents met with MGM.
