SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Thursday, Penn National Gaming continued to stress that 9 out of 10 people it hires will be from Springfield.
Penn National's Vice President for Public Affairs Eric Schippers in a statement said their project would create 2400 permanent jobs, 90 percent for Springfield residents.
To achieve that goal, Penn National will have small job fairs and work with community colleges to hold specialized training sessions, among other things.
If Penn National can't met that goal of 90 percent, it will consult with the city before exploring surrounding communities.
