HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - It was just a normal day along Whiting Farms Road in Holyoke until a pickup truck ran into a fire hydrant.

The gusher literally had a negative domino effect on the neighborhood along the road.

Many shoppers take that road to get from Route 5 to the Holyoke Mall.

Holyoke Police Lt. David Fornier told 22News, homes lost power and it became necessary to shut down Whiting Farms Road for awhile.

Patrons of JP's Sports Bar, which lost power after the accident, are all hoping the power is restored in time for tonight's Patriots game.
