EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Police in East Longmeadow are expecting to ask for a warrant against a 17 year-old from Washington State, who they believed called in a bomb threat Wednesday afternoon at the Birchland Park Middle School.

Police Sgt. Patrick Manley told 22News that they anticipate seeking a complaint in Palmer District Court against Charles Tilton of Isaquah, Washington. He said that they have also arrested a 14 year-old Birchland Park student for his alleged role in the threat.

According to Manley, the two met each other through the online gaming community. He says that they plotted to make the threat, which was called-in around 2:00, as the dismissal procedures were beginning at the school.

Manley says that the caller stated: “There’s a bomb in the building, and everyone’s going to die.” No bomb was found, and all students went home safely.

The East Longmeadow student’s name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
