SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Hampden County District Attorney's Office says there may be a break in the unsolved 1993 murder of 10 year old Holly Piirainen.
In a release sent to 22News, Hampden County D.A. Mark Mastroianni says recent forensic findings have resulted in a new lead for the case.
Mastroianni and the Massachusetts State Police have scheduled a news conference for Tuesday, January 3rd to discuss the findings.
Piiranien was last seen alive on August 5th, 1993 in Sturbridge.
Her remains were found two months later in Brimfield.
