CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - President Obama has declared a state of emergency for Massachusetts.

The declaration means that federal disaster aid will be made available for people who suffered damaged from the October snow storm.

All four western Massachusetts counties, Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire and Hamdpen, are considered disaster areas.

This is the third time the federal government has stepped in to assist western Massachusetts communities in the last five months.
