SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Dozens of people gathered at Senator John Kerry's office in Springfield in an effort to prevent the so called "fiscal cliff."
Members of the groups MoveOn, Arise for Social Justice, and others asked a Kerry representative Monday that the Democrat do everything to avoid cuts to Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare.
They gave examples of how it would affect them if Congress doesn't act for the deadline.
"It is not a balanced approach to take income earners at the lower and middle class, and cut their benefits. The more balanced approach would be to make corporations and wealthy two percent pay," Jenny Daniell of MoveOn said.
A Kerry representative listened to the stories to take to the Senator.
