Rebecca Johnson School was on lockdown

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A lockdown at the Rebecca Johnson School in Springfield has been lifted.

Spokeswoman of the Springfield Public School Department Azell Cavaan told 22News they went into lockdown at 3:30 because of some kind of "police activity in the neighborhood."

No students were injured.

School dismissal was delayed because of the lockdown.

Police are now escorting students to their school buses to head home. Parents have been notified.
