SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 'Rebuilding Springfield' Thursday night celebrated twenty years of rebuilding homes for people who need help in Springfield.
Last year, 'Rebuilding Together' repaired 71 homes with over 5-thousand volunteers. Many of the homeowners they assist are low-income, the elderly or military veterans.
Jane Pashko told 22news the help she received on her home was a miracle. “I love to come home and see the house so bright and cheerful; before it was so dull. The paint was peeling. It needed so much work. We're both retired we just couldn't keep it up.”
According to the Executive Director of ‘Rebuilding Together,’ Colleen Loveless, “We’ve also been working on tornado damaged homes since last year as well. There are still over a hundred families who need help with rebuilding.”
TD bank sponsors 'Rebuilding Together' and Thursday night they presented a 15-thousand dollar donation to support their mission.
