Garbage was illegally dumped

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - People living in Chicopee's Willimansett Heights neighborhood spent the day clearing away the rubbish that others had dumped there illegally.

In the woods near Dale Street, outsiders had created a neighborhood eyesore.

On Saturday neighbors said enough is enough, and spent hours getting rid of the unwanted debris.

Stacy Burger was one of the organizers of the clean up.

“This area located behind me was full of trash and people were unloading waste in the area so we are a very close neighborhood,” said Stacy Burger.

The Chicopee Highway Department showed its good faith by providing a garbage collection truck, that carted away everything the neighbors had picked up.
