SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - First Lady Michelle Obama was in Western Massachusetts Friday night.

She was in town to raise money for her husband's re-election campaign. At 2:00 Friday afternoon her motorcade showed up to the Basketball Hall of Fame for a luncheon.

Tickets were $1,000 for lunch or $2,500 for lunch and a photo with the First Lady.

Those who couldn't buy a ticket, tried to catch a glimpse of her walking in. Jerry Urlage of Wilbraham said, “I thought if I went over and bought Subway and was standing here, maybe they wouldn't make me move. I was interested in seeing if she's as beautiful in person as she is on television.”

Unfortunately Obama was taken into an underground tunnel, so onlookers didn't get a chance to see her. The First Lady headed to Pittsfield next, then to the Governor's home in Richmond for dinner where tickets were $20,000 a plate.
