SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Salvation Army has begun its annual Coats for Kids drive.
They're hoping donors drop off at least 5,000 coats at any of the program's many sponsors during the next three weeks.
The Salvation Army's Captain Ronda Ferreira told 22News disadvantaged kids desperately need this warm clothing.
“They are so grateful. It's overwhelming gratitude, tears in their eyes. They're so touched and so are we. At the Salvation Army we are so touched it's just an incredible day,” said Captain Ronda Ferreira of the Springfield Salvation Army.
